/ Disclaimer
In accordance with The Civil Liability Act 2003, Toowoomba LAN Games (hereby referred to as TLG) assumes no liability whatsoever for damage or loss incurred by persons attending TLG functions. As detailed in said legislation, TLG assumes the following stance on the actions of its volunteers:
-
A volunteer does not incur any personal civil liability for any act or
omission done in good faith when doing community work that is:
- organised by a community organisation, or
- as an office holder of a community organization.
Although TLG has made every attempt to prevent the loss or accidental damage of equipment or data, the sole responsibility is on the owner. TLG advises that all persons attending TLG functions ensure they have adequate insurance for their equipment. In the case where an insurance policy will not cover the loss or damage of equipment by another party holding malicious intent, TLG will not be held liable and any confrontation or consolidation must be held external to TLG. TLG wishes to advise that persons attending TLG functions ensure they have appropriate backups of important data and adequate security provisions of sensitive data. TLG assumes no liability for theft of data on subject's computer. TLG recommends disabling Windows File Sharing on all computers holding a copy of Windows released after Windows 3.1.
Make sure you backup your important data, and secure data you don't want others to see. We are not liable for damage caused to your computer. Having backed up versions of your data will lessen the risk if you do have a problem. We recommend that you completely disable Windows File Sharing.
The consultation and acceptance of the clauses in this document is held as a condition of entry to TLG functions, and TLG reserves the right to dismiss persons who do not perform said actions. Additionally, the Code of Conduct featured on the TLG site is bound by the above parameters. Agreement to this document is also a condition of entry.
For further information, please consult the full disclaimer featured below.
